Breen Sculpture Competition

This morning I spoke to Brendan Leggett at SWR FM 99.9, and then later Graham Sattler at ABC Central West Radio, about the Breene Sculpture Award. The award was launched on 13 November 2008, by the Deputy Premier Carmel Tebbutt. It's a story that will seep our slowly I suspect - I spoke to ABC Radio in Karratha WA, and then Arts Alive on SBS Digital National, on the day itself.

A prize of $20,000 is available for the winning piece, which will be come part of the Gwuulya Garri Dilya (or Garden for Laughing Children) at Mount Tomah Botanic Garden. Tom Breen and his family funded the prize, as well as a further $30,000 to create the sculpture and some additional funds for the surrounding children's garden. The competition closes on 27 February 2010 - see www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/ for application forms and further information.
