The week that was

Just a couple of quick highlights from the week.

On Wednesday, at the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust office in Mosman, the Friends of the Bradley Bushland Reserve handed over their archives to the State Library of NSW. Barry O'Keefe spoke elegantly about the Bradley sisters, and achievement of the Friends since their beginnings in 1984.

We had the second meeting of the Scientific (Program) Committee for the International Botanical Congress to be held in Melburne in 2011. Soon we'll be calling for symposium ideas and chasing up plenary, keynote and public speakers - keep an eye on the website (soon to be refreshed!).

And two important and stimulating launches: the 2009 Eureka Prizes at the Australian Museum, with NSW Chief Scientist Mary O'Kane, and a new nautically flavoured exhibition on Mr Charles Darwin at the Australian National Maritime Museum, with Robyn Williams.
